WHO ARE WE?
We trained at Edinburgh's Stevenson College, and are both fully qualified repairers, though Steve does most of the repair work these days, while Ally does everything else.
Our home/workshop is located between the unspoiled beauty of the Solway coast and England's dramatic Lake District. The views from our workshop window, across the water to Scotland, can be breathtaking.
OPENING HOURS
As we live on the premises we are pretty flexible, but in general our opening hours are 10am - 6pm, Monday – Friday, and 10am – 12 noon on Saturdays. We are closed on Sunday.
Please phone (01900 813200) or email Steve or Ally (steve@marshallmcgurk.com or ally@situponseats.co.uk) to arrange an appointment.
INSTRUMENTS FOR SALE
We always try to keep a few decent, reconditioned instruments for sale. Click the relevant tab above for more details.
REPAIRS BY POST
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a musical instrument repair workshop nearby. Many people have to travel to an instrument retailer, and as a lot of these businesses don't have their own repairer on site, they are simply acting as an agent for repairers. They have to make a living, so usually charge a fee to pass your instrument on to us.
Just phone us on 01900 813200 or email steve@marshallmcgurk.com or ally@situponseats.co.uk
Explain what the problem is, and we'll arrange for your instrument to be sent safely to us.
It's quick and pain-free; turnaround time can be surprisingly short; and we're always available at the end of the phone, or by email.
also – WOVEN SEATING
Our sister company, SitUpon Seats, is the place to go for expert restoration of cane, rush and other types of woven seating, as well as materials to do your own repairs.
